ORANGE CAKE WITH STRAWBERRY CRUSH

Method:


  1. Mix together all purpose flour (refined flour) and butter with your hands until it turns into a nice and soft mixture. Add baking powder too.
  2. Take another bowl. Beat an egg and castor sugar together. Now add milk and vanilla essence to it. It neutralizes the smell of egg and imparts a scintillating flavour.
  3. Next, grip the orange halves tightly and squeeze it by hand, using a plain juicer to coax all the juice out. Add this to the previous mixture. (Step 2).
  4.  Gradually mix the step 1 mixture with the step 2 liquid mixture and stir it continuously to remove all the lumps. Add crushed almonds if you like.
  5. Grease a microwave safe bowl with butter and flour. Pour the above batter into it.
  6. Pre-heat your oven or microwave at 180 degree Celsius. Then cook it for around 20-25 minutes in oven or another option is cook in the microwave for 5 minutes and then grill it for 30 seconds.
  7.  To check whether it’s done or not, put a toothpick inside it. If nothing sticks on it, then your cake is ready.
           8.       Once it’s done take out the cake on a plate. Cut it into two halves horizontally from the centre. Apply  strawberry crush on one side and top it up with crushed chocolate nuts biscuits. Join it together again and let it cool in the refrigerator for an hour.

PS: you can even apply a layer of whipped cream on the top of the cake and garnish it with fresh strawberries. The combination of oranges and strawberries tastes divine ;)
